About the leader:
Gillian Kendall is an American-Australian writer currently living in the US.
She is the author of Mr. Ding’s Chicken Feet, a travel narrative, and co-author of How I Became a Human Being, a biography, both from University of Wisconsin Press. A high-school dropout with a Ph.D. and a background in publishing and teaching, she is now a full-time freelance writer. She is a manuscript reader and writer for The Sun magazine, a writing coach, and an adventurer for hire.
She says:
My creative philosophy combines some Jung, some co-counseling, some Christianity and Buddhism, lots of feminism, a bit of exercise, graduate degrees, and my love of oceans, animals and
food. A desperate childhood, a misspent youth, good books and great teachers have helped me write well. I like to share what I’ve learnt in an atmosphere of fun and trust. Some of what we do will be highly structured, but my goal is to help you find your own best words to express your truest meaning.
Freelance work:
I am sometimes available for freelance editing or manuscript critiques. Feel free to email me about your project.
